Relationships and atmosphere
Gets to know other Panel members and works with others to provide an informal and friendly and professional environment.

Participation
Participates fully in all meetings they attend and listens to and respects the views of others.

Vision and objectives
Is involved with setting the vision and objectives for the Panel and ensures that a consistent message is communicated to the wider business community.  Reviews vision and objectives of the Wansbeck Business Forum and initiates any minor amendments, as required.  
 
Commitment
Is committed to regularly attending monthly meetings and to working towards meeting the goals of the Panel – not to pursuing own agenda.

Information sharing
Actively listens to the thoughts and ideas of others and respects their views – even if they do not share the same opinion.  Gathers views and opinions of the wider business community on pertinent issues and shares this information with the Panel.

Conflict management
Where there are differences of opinion, agrees that all view points are valid.  Makes compromises, as appropriate, for the good of the Panel.

Decision making
Is actively involved in problem solving and decision-making.  Ensures that the rationale for decisions is stated, as appropriate.

Member appraisal
Openly discusses the personal strengths and areas for improvement of self and other Panel members in a constructive way.  If issues arise which Members are unable to resolve, these are discussed with the Chairperson to determine a solution.

Feelings
Feelings and opinions are openly and honestly expressed during meetings.  The feelings of others are respected.

Task assignment
Committed to participate actively in Panel work and is prepared to help set the agenda for meetings.  Volunteers for and willingly accepts assignments and completes them thoroughly and on time.

Leadership
Understands the roles and responsibility of the Chairperson and the role Panel Members play in supporting the Chairperson and delivering the objectives of the Forum.  Actively supports new Panel members during Induction to the Panel.

Process monitoring
Is an active participant in the Panel's annual evaluation and planning efforts.  Monitors and challenges operating practices and develops and implements new ideas, to ensure continuous improvement of the services offered by the Wansbeck Business Forum.  Creative and prepared to generate and share ideas for future events. Foresight to shape the activities of Wansbeck Business Forum ‘paid’ officers.
