A new tiling and cladding shop has opened its doors on Milburn Road in Ashington. The Tile & Cladding Centre began trading in February and with the help of Go Wansbeck and LEGI funding hopes to have a prosperous future.
Owner Janine Bell of Guidepost has worked in the tiling business since leaving school at 17 “I worked for my Dad’s Luxury Bathroom Showroom and learned everything I needed to know there.”

Janine decided to go it alone after a short break from work was taken to raise her two children.
Having decided she wanted to start her own company and securing funding from Go Wansbeck, she needed to find suitable premises. Janine was put in touch with Luke Dunnett, Commercial Premises Co-ordinator with the Wansbeck Business Forum who was able to identify vacant premises on Milburn Road which fit the bill.

The Tile & Cladding Centre can offer a comprehensive range of products varying from wall & floor tiles, uPvc wall & ceiling cladding, bathroom suites, shower cubicles, & wet room kits. They can also put together complete installation packages and offer complete bathroom packages from as little as £3,200. “I have worked in the business a long time and our limited overheads mean that we are able to offer products and packages at a much cheaper rate than most of our competitors.”
