Perfect start for Wansbeck business
The Wansbeck Enterprise Centre in Ashington has a new company joining the ranks of those that are opting to base their business in an ever flourishing Wansbeck. .
Jason Pigott, 36 of Stakeford in Choppington was an experienced vehicle body repair technician with 20 years in the business when he was made redundant from his job at Bells Mitsubishi in Longbenton earlier this year. “When I lost my job it was a difficult time, I was out of work and couldn’t see a way back until one day I just thought ‘Why not work for myself?’. I was confident that I had the knowledge and experience so what was I waiting for?”
Once the decision had been made Jason’s next step was to make contact with Luke Dunnett, Commercial Premises Co-ordinator with the Wansbeck Business Forum who was able to advise on what properties might be suitable for Jason’s workshop. “We looked at a few properties in and around Ashington but once we viewed the unit at the Enterprise Centre, Jason was certain it was the right location for his businesses” explains Luke.
“I’m really happy with the unit here at the Enterprise Centre and would like to thank Luke for all his help and also to everyone involved at the Centre who have been great.”
Jason started trading as Painted 2 Perfection in June and since then the business has gone from strength to strength “We specialise in vehicle body repairs and paint spraying services for both minor and major jobs covering all types of vehicles from cars to vans to caravans. Presently we are doing a lot of light commercial and trade work for local garages but are also happy to deal with domestic clients and people in need of our services who call in off the streets. I couldn’t be happier with how things are going.”
Even at this early stage of the business, Jason finds himself looking ahead with ambitious plans for expansion. “My initial intention was to also operate a mobile repair service but as work at the unit is going well I’ve had to put this on hold but I’ve recently taken on Apprentice to help me so this is something I hope to build on in the near future”
Shane Saunderson, 18 of Ashington started with Painted to Perfection in September and has been a great asset to the business “Shane is very keen and hard working and I am very pleased with the way he has performed. He attends college as well as working with me full time and has shown great skill and commitment. I’m sure together we can make the business an even bigger success”.
